Windows Registry is a database which stores settings and options for Microsoft Windows operating systems. It contains information and settings for hardware, operating system software, most non-operating system software, and per-user settings. The registry also provides a window into the operation of the kernel, exposing runtime information such as performance counters and currently active hardware.

Why should we clean the Registry?

Almost each and every software we use leaves some traces in the registry even after we uninstall the software. If these traces left behind the software’s get clustered in the registry, it affects the performance of the PC in a major level. Thus it is important to clean the Registry.

How to clean the registry???

Cleaning the registry of windows based machine is not much difficult provided proper care is taken as any mistake costs you the proper functionality of the windows operating system. So at most care should be taken while cleaning the system registry and taking a proper backup of the existing registry is always suggested. Windows Registry can be easily cleaned by following the steps given below.

1. First of all we before we start all we need is a good registry cleaner, there were lots of registry cleaners available but be careful when you download one as your PC will be affected with spywares, viruses from the sites you visit as “Registry Cleaner” is one of the top keyword combination used by hackers.

2. Install the Registry cleaner which you download. This can be done by running the downloaded Registry cleaner installation file. Once you run it, there will be an installation wizard. Follow the instructions of the wizard and the Registry cleaner will get installed successfully (make and icon in the desktop for easy access).

3. Now run the Registry cleaner by double clicking on its icon. Once the program runs, scan the registry for issues. Once the scan is done, make a backup of the registry. After making the backup, click repair to clean the registry of errors and issue.

4. Running the Registry once in a year is not enough. A weekly maintenance should be done. Clean the registry every week using the Registry cleaner. Also make sure you clean the Registry after you uninstall software’s.

1. Click on Start –> Right Click on My Computer –> Properties

2. In the left hand pane you can find Remote Settings, Just Click on that.

3. Select Allow connections from computer running any version of Remote Desktop (Even though it is less secure it is recommended to select this option as it allows the users from previous windows operating systems.. to access remote connections to the computer)

5. Click on Apply to activate the settings.

3. Now create the code you wish to post

Internet Protocol(IP) Address is the address of a computer which is unique such that a computer is identified in a network.

Static IP: This IP address is assigned to the computer manually and does not change every time the computer is connected to the network. This is to ensure same settings were applied across all the networks like Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Personal Area Network (PAN). These settings remain intact and thus ensure that the computer gets access to all the data it needs very fast.

Dynamic IP: This IP address is allocated by the network router/servers by using the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). This protocol dynamically allocates an IP address to the computer when it connects to the network, from a pool of IP addresses. Thus the IP address of the computer changes(Depends on the lease settings configured by DHCP Server) every time it connects to the host servers. (As Dynamic IP’s were automatically assigned we need not change the settings as it will get IP from the pool available from the server)

To change the IP address of a computer Which is Statically Assigned.

1. Click Start –> Control Panel –> Network & Internet –> View Network Status and Tasks

 2. Click on Local Area Connection –> Properties –> Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPV4) –> Properties

3. Select Enter  Use the following address and enter IP configuration settings you have.

4. After entering the IP configuration settings click on OK –> Close

5. The configuration was completed and your new IP address is assigned to your computer.

So here is the procedure to install plugins:

1. Download the plugin (ofcourse you would have done that )

2. Login to your blog dashboard.

3. Click on Plugins –> Add New4. Browse the plugin form your compute and click on install.5. That is it you are done with installing the plugin and now activate the plugin and configure it as necessary.

To open the Local Group Policy Editor from the command line

Click Start, Run ( Windows Key + R ) type gpedit.msc in the command box, and then press ENTER.

To open the Local Group Policy Editor as an MMC snap-in

1. Open MMC. (Click Start, click in the Start Search box, type mmc, and then press ENTER., Press YES if prompted by UMC)

2. On the File menu, click Add/Remove Snap-in.

3. In the Add or Remove Snap-ins dialog box, click Group Policy Object Editor, and then click Add.4. In the Select Group Policy Object dialog box, click Browse.

5. Click This computer to edit the Local Group Policy object, or click Users to edit Administrator, Non-Administrator, or per-user Local Group Policy objects.

6. Click Finish.

Here are the steps you have to follow to install Tweetable

Install the plugin(To know how to install a plugin in wordpress just follow this link), after activating the plugin click on settings

Step1: Register your blog with Twitter

For security reasons, tweetable uses Twitter’s OAuth protocol to authenticate and access your Twitter account. For it to work, you must register your blog as an application with Twitter. Click the button below to go to Twitter.com and register it.

To Register Application at twitter follow this instructions

When you arrive at Twitter, click the “Register a new application,” you will see a form like the one pictured below. You will have to fill-out a few fields.

You do not need to upload an icon. It’s entirely optional, and chances are nobody will see it.

1. Enter your blog’s name in the Application Name field.
2. Put a brief description of your blog in the Description box. Just a few words to identify the application.
3. Your blog’s URL should go in the Application Website field. (E.g. http://lazytechie.com.)
4. Leave the Application Type as Browser.
5. In the Callback URL field, paste the link you will get in installation
6. Set Default Access type as Read & Write.
7. Press the Save button, then come back to wordpress installation page and continue the setup wizard.

Step 2: Enter the Application Keys

To enable WordPress to interface with the Twitter API, you must enter the application consumer keys. You can find them after completing the registration of an application at Twitter and selecting the application you registered in the previous step.

Enter the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret keys in the tweetable settings page at wordpress and then save and continue for further step

Step 3: Enter your twitter username and then continue

Step 4: Authorize Your Twitter Account

You are Almost done! Now you need to authorize your blog to have access to your Twitter account.

Just Click on sign in to twitter, and you will be taken to Twitter.com. If you’re already logged in, you will be presented with the option to authorize your blog. Press the button to do so, and you will come right back here.

And that is it you are done with tweetable installation and now you can enjoy updates to twitter automatically. 

To install the DHCP Service on an existing Windows 2008 Server:

1. Click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager
2. Double-click Roles, and then click Add Roles.
3. Click Next, Then Check DHCP Server, Then Click Next and then again Next.
4. Check the name of the domain and ip settings and click Next, check if you require WINS SERVER and enter ip setting for the WINS SERVER else click Next.
5. Click Next as we can configure the DHCP server later (which I will explain in my next post)
6. Check Enable DHCPv6 stateless mode for this server if you like to enable IPv6 and repeat step 4, else check Disable DHCPv6 stateless mode for this server and click Next
7. Enter the administrator credentials as required and then click Next.
8. Check the configuration settings and click Install to finish the installation.

Note: The Steps are applicable for earlier versions of windows servers also( Windows Server 2000, Windows Server 2003).

Just follow these simple steps : (Alternatively you can create a blog with blogger, click here to know how about creating a blogger blog)

1. Log on to WordPress

2. Check out the tab Sign Up Now.3. Fill up the registration form at the end you will have an option like whether you would like to create just username or a blog with the username you choose.4. choose the Option which ever is applicable for you. If you choose “Gimme a blog” You are done with creating a blog, else go further to the next steps.

5. After logging in to your account you can find “register another blog” in the left navigation pane6. Choose the name for your blog and check its availability if it is available that is it you are done with creating your new wordpress blog.

2. Check out for the tab create a blog3. If you have a google id then simply log on using that id or register for a new id.

4. After signing in enter the name of of the blog you wish to have for your blog and heck its availability and register it.

5. You will be directed to a page where you will be asked to choose a template for your blog, choose one wish you wish have for your blog(we can change it at any point of time ll let know how to change the blogger template in the next tutorial)

5.Thats it you are done with creating a new blog and now you can start blogging.
