If you are an Adsense user, one thing I am sure you will always want to increase your earnings. There are many optimization techniques one should follow in order to improve Google earnings. Here are few important concepts for you to increase your earnings with Adsense by making small changes into your ads. If you are a newbie, you will definitely get benefited with these videos,
Ad Position

This is the most important aspect which is usually ignored by the users. The ads should be placed where the users can view them. If you are going to place your ads in the footer where no one view them, its of no use. This video demonstrates how this could be possible with a real life example.

Color Blending with Proper shades

If you are going to place a opposite colored ad unit in your clean site, people will be distracted more and there are more chances for them to leave your website than you are served. You must make sure that the ads you place should match with the layout of your page. This Video will help you in detail.

Ad size

This plays a major role to increase your Google earnings as if you use some small ad unit which has a less detail, there are more chances that people neglect the ad area. If you use a bigger unit, it fetches more attention and hence a boost in your income.

Adsense for Search

Twitter is becoming more and more popular day-by-day and many people agree that Twitter is the one of the best social networking sites. If you are a music lover and use Twitter then you can now share music that you are listening with your friends and followers on Twitter.

Here in are tools that help you to search and share music on Twitter.

TwittyTunes – This is another FireFox extension that allows you to tweet the titles of the songs that you are currently playing. Using this tool you can control how many and how often you want to tweet. It even allows you to tweet URLs of the websites that you are viewing, mp3 links and video links: all links are shortened before tweeting.

Twt.fm – This is a popular music channel on the web. In Twt.fm, you can search for music by entering an artist name or track name. You can directly listen to songs from your browser and you can tweet the song URLs with a single click.

BLIP.fm – Search for a song or an artist and select a song from the search results and play it to listen and click it to tweet it. Yes, blip.fm is that simple, searching and tweeting songs URLs is very easy on this site. Whenever you tweet, it will also blip on this site, sharing on this site is called ‘bliping’.

It is always suggestible for the author to write posts in very attractive and beautiful way so that the reading ability and enthusiasm of the visitor remains live. In this post I will explain how the procedure to highlight codes( Whether it may be CSS, PHP, Java, HTML…) in different colours. There were lots of plugins for wordpress which serves the purpose but here I am choosing Syntax Highlighter WordPress Plugin. Just Follow the simple instructions and you can play in colours with codes.

1. First download Syntax Highlighter WordPress Plugin.

2. Now install the plugin and activate it. ( To know How to install WordPress plugin, just check this post)

3. Now create the code you wish to post

<

pre

class

=

"brush:[code-alias]"

> …Your Code Here </

pre

>

replace the "[Code-alias]" segment with the type of code you have. You can see all the available brush alias here.

For Example a C# code will look like this:

Hello1.cs

public

class

Hello1

{

public

static

void

Main()

{

System.Console.WriteLine(

"Hello, World!"

);

}

}

The screenshot to see how this plugin highlight’s your codes is attached for your reference.

This plugin generates static html files from your dynamic WordPress blog. After a html file is generated your web server will serve that file instead of processing the comparatively heavier and more expensive WordPress PHP scripts. Making sure that your blog will load with a great speed.. Click here to download WP Super Cache plugin.

How To Install WP-Super Cache Plugin:

You should have the Apache mod mime and mod rewrite modules installed and WordPress fancy permalinks enabled. PHP safe mode should be disabled. If any of those are missing or off you can still use the slower WP-Cache part of the plugin.

If you have WP-Cache installed already, please disable it. Edit wp-config.php and make sure the WP_CACHE define is deleted, and remove the files wp-content/wp-cache-config.php and wp-content/advanced-cache.php. These will be recreated when you install this plugin.

Upload this directory to your plugins directory. It will create a ‘wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/’ directory.

If you are using WordPress MU you will need to install this in ‘wp-content/mu-plugins/wp-super-cache/’ and the file wp-cache.php must be copied into the mu-plugins directory.

WordPress users should go to their Plugins page and activate "WP Super Cache".

Now go to Settings->WP Super Cache and enable caching. If you see an error message or a blank screen you may need to fix it. See the "FAQ" section later in this readme for instructions.

mod_rewrite rules will be inserted into your .htaccess file. Look in your web root directory for this file. It should look similar to this:

-----------------.htaccess-----------------
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} !=POST
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !.*=.*
RewriteCond %{HTTP_COOKIE} !^.*(comment_author_|wordpress|wp-postpass_).*$
RewriteCond %{HTTP:Accept-Encoding} gzip
RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/wp-content/cache/supercache/%{HTTP_HOST}/$1/index.html.gz -f
RewriteRule ^(.*) /wp-content/cache/supercache/%{HTTP_HOST}/$1/index.html.gz [L]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} !=POST
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !.*=.*
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !.*attachment_id=.*
RewriteCond %{HTTP_COOKIE} !^.*(comment_author_|wordpress|wp-postpass_).*$
RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/wp-content/cache/supercache/%{HTTP_HOST}/$1/index.html -f
RewriteRule ^(.*) /wp-content/cache/supercache/%{HTTP_HOST}/$1/index.html [L]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
-----------------.htaccess-----------------

After you have enabled the plugin, look for the file "wp-content/cache/.htaccess". If it’s not there you must create it. It should read:

# BEGIN supercache
<IfModule mod_mime.c>
 AddEncoding gzip .gz
 AddType text/html .gz
</IfModule>
<IfModule mod_deflate.c>
 SetEnvIfNoCase Request_URI \.gz$ no-gzip
</IfModule>
<IfModule mod_headers.c>
 Header set Cache-Control 'max-age=300, must-revalidate'
</IfModule>
<IfModule mod_expires.c>
 ExpiresActive On
 ExpiresByType text/html A300
</IfModule>

# END supercache

Apache must be configured to allow the modules above. If you receive a "500 internal error" when serving requests to anonymous users you need to dig into your Apache configuration. This configuration in my virtual host works for me:

<Directory /home/www/>
AllowOverride All
</Directory>

wp-content/advanced-cache.php loads the caching engine. This file is generated by the plugin. Make sure the path in the include_once() is correct.

As Twitter is not only a great source to promote the blog but also one of the great sources of traffic. Almost every successfull blogger is using twitter to promote his blog. Its a great way to connect & interact directly with readers.Here is a great plugin which works with wordpress for tweeting your blog posts automatically(yes what i said is correct). The plugin is called tweetable which helps to integrate twitter into our blog. Tweetable can automatically tweet links to your blog posts as they are published. To know more about this plugin follow this link.

Here are the steps you have to follow to install Tweetable

Install the plugin(To know how to install a plugin in wordpress just follow this link), after activating the plugin click on settings

Step1: Register your blog with Twitter

For security reasons, tweetable uses Twitter’s OAuth protocol to authenticate and access your Twitter account. For it to work, you must register your blog as an application with Twitter. Click the button below to go to Twitter.com and register it.

To Register Application at twitter follow this instructions

When you arrive at Twitter, click the “Register a new application,” you will see a form like the one pictured below. You will have to fill-out a few fields.

You do not need to upload an icon. It’s entirely optional, and chances are nobody will see it.

1. Enter your blog’s name in the Application Name field.
2. Put a brief description of your blog in the Description box. Just a few words to identify the application.
3. Your blog’s URL should go in the Application Website field. (E.g. http://lazytechie.com.)
4. Leave the Application Type as Browser.
5. In the Callback URL field, paste the link you will get in installation
6. Set Default Access type as Read & Write.
7. Press the Save button, then come back to wordpress installation page and continue the setup wizard.

Step 2: Enter the Application Keys

To enable WordPress to interface with the Twitter API, you must enter the application consumer keys. You can find them after completing the registration of an application at Twitter and selecting the application you registered in the previous step.

Enter the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret keys in the tweetable settings page at wordpress and then save and continue for further step

Step 3: Enter your twitter username and then continue

Step 4: Authorize Your Twitter Account

You are Almost done! Now you need to authorize your blog to have access to your Twitter account.

Just Click on sign in to twitter, and you will be taken to Twitter.com. If you’re already logged in, you will be presented with the option to authorize your blog. Press the button to do so, and you will come right back here.

And that is it you are done with tweetable installation and now you can enjoy updates to twitter automatically.
